Job Description

Reporting to the CEO, the overall purpose of this role is to support the execution of the strategy and creation of organization agility through change management, driving organizational performance management, generating key insights from syntheses of pertinent internal and market data, and monitoring the implementation of strategy. The job holder will also oversee periodic reviews of the corporate strategic plan.

                        DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Co-create strategic alignment in the organizationby co-facilitating the cascading of the Strategy that includes guiding divisional heads in the translation of the strategic initiatives to actionable activities and the identification of key performance indicators, and Quality assuring the targets set using the SMART criteria (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-framed).
  • Drive organizational change readinessby coordinating the implementation and rollout of key strategic initiatives and projects with close collaboration with the offices of the COO, user divisions and the Infrastructure Projects Consultants. This includes ensuring that related projects are run concurrently.
  • Improve the probability of success of strategic projectsby leading the Culture and Change Management work stream at the Hospital. This shall include advising the CEO and project sponsors across the organization in managing change required in the execution of strategic projects; leading the identification and implementation of initiatives required to create the desired culture; and establishing formal and informal communication lines, up and down the organization to allow prompt identification and resolution of problems that impede the achievement of strategic goals.
  • Rally the competitiveness of the M.P Shah Hospitalby generating of competitive insights for the Hospital. This shall include conducting primary and secondary research into major industry trends, competitor activity and customer needs and translating the insights into strategic recommendations and plans.
  • Create organizational agilityby creating an innovating culture in the institution. This includes creating idea banks, driving assessment of the feasibility of ideas, overseeing the implementation of ideas, rolling out incentives to idea generators in collaboration with the human capital function, and other initiatives deemed fit.
  • Track the implementation of the strategyby maintaining a robust enterprise performance management system and a strategy monitoring & evaluation framework. This shall include working closely with the CEO to facilitate the corporate and divisional performance management reporting;
    quality assuring the measurement and analysis of results for the performance measures; and monitoring and tracking of strategic initiatives.
  • Resource Management– Review, select and monitor relevant contracts; and inspects for compliance with contracted services, through proper management of the contract to ensure business continuity for continued patient care even where there are contracts stopped. Be involved in the purchase/ use of resources – human and technical – with an understanding of their quality and safety 2 implications. Determine space, equipment, staffing, technical, induction, and other resources to ensure service continuity.
  • Performance Management: Oversee the alignment of the efforts of the hospital employees by translating the strategic objectives into actionable initiatives and effectively cascading them to the divisional heads to ensure accountability and drive the execution of the overall hospital’s strategic plan. Oversee the plans, training, and coordination of all divisions and departments to ensure service levels are met. Oversee the implementation of the hospital quality measures by different divisions. Reviews the Selected measures for improvement, and ways of measuring, and continuously ensure new measures are set when others have been met.
  • Ensure adequacy of ethical practices and decision-makingto provide patient care within the business, financial, ethical, and legal norms, and protects patients and their rights.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
  • A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
  • At least eight (8) years working experience with at least five (5) years in strategic planning, change management, project management, and organizational performance management.
  • Proven experience in strategic and creative leadership a requirement with a proven track record of excellent performance.
  • Practical experience in the use of Business Intelligence Tools and ERP systems Experience in Healthcare or the Healthcare Insurance industry is highly preferred.
