Job Description

This position is responsible for assisting the Head of Retail Operations oversee the branch operations and any other matters concerning the retail division to ensure delivery of the AutoXpress Brand Promise and achieve the divisions’ financial and commercial objectives. The position requires travel within the country to visit all retail branches at defined intervals.

Main Duties/ Responsibilities:

Leadership and Training:

• Providing leadership, mentorship and coaching the branch teams in order to build highly motivated and performing teams
• Assist in managing the KPI program for individual staff members
• Contribute to staff training initiatives to enhance and develop new skills 
• Assist in developing and implementing a skills matrix for recruitment and career development.

Plant & Equipment Maintenance:

• Providing feedback on necessary repairs and maintenance improvements that may be at locations.
• Ensure approved actions for the repairs and maintenance are undertaken
• Coach branch teams in liaison with their immediate supervisors in the maintenance of their respective stores, workshop equipment and taking proactive measure to reduce downtimes and increasing efficiency. 
• Oversee the tools & equipment maintenance register.
• Liaison with GED Manager and Operations Manager to ensure the repairs & maintenance of existing branches is done within the set standards and budgets.
• Liaison with GED Manager and Operations Manager to ensure new branches are equipped with the necessary within the set opening time frames.

Processes & Procedures:

• Implement any process changes across all branches, ensuring compliance by all team members.
• Recommend updates to existing policies and processed on a regular basis
• Ensure all safety, health, environment and quality processes and policies are adhered to and all audit findings are closed in a timely manner.
• Continuous engagement with the retail teams and customers to monitor customer journey, customer feedback collection and business process & policies and recommend appropriate changes. 

Financial and business performance:

• Continuous review of retail business channels and identify new business opportunities and / or process enhancements
• Recommend localized marketing insights and ideas with branch teams.
• Assist in inventory management at retail locations
• Assist in preparing annual budgets
• Take relevant measures to ensure retail targets and objectives are met.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Business diploma / degree or equivalent experience
• Five (5) years’ experience in AutoXpress in a senior position and / or in a position that directly relates to managing people, planning and operating business units which includes customer engagement.
• Understanding of an Automotive Retail environment will be an added advantage
• Basic understanding of financial reports, revenue planning, cost management and budget processes will be an added advantage.
