Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership for all the nursing related functions at the Hospital.
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, review, update and ensure compliance with policies and procedures in nursing department.
• Manage day-to-day operations of the nursing departments and provide quality costeffective care for the patient population.
• Provide supervision and strategic direction to all the members of the nursing department.
• Manage the departmental budget and develop cost containment strategies within the unit.
• In charge of performance management within the department.
• Take lead in managing quality improvement and patient safety programs within the facility.
• Facilitate learning opportunities to ensure personal and professional growth of departmental staff.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary committees.
• Take part in the recruitment process of the nursing staff.
• Take an active role in clinical nursing-as the team leader.
• Advise management on the best nursing practices.
• Play the link between the nursing unit and other departmental heads.
• Any other duty as may be assigned.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a nurse leadership position.
• Must be registered by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
• Must have a Valid Practice license.
• Active BLS & ACLS certification.
• Demonstrated leadership & interpersonal skills.
